Remove the Action Center icon from system tray

If you have the need to remove the Action Center icon from Notification area or system tray (old name) then please do the following:

Open local policy (gpedit.msc)

Navigate to:

User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Start Menu and Taskbar

In the right pane double click on the ‘Remove the Action Center icon‘ and select Enable to remove the icon from the Notification Area or System Tray.

This applies to Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and later Operating Systems from Microsoft..

Close the local policy editor and logoff and logon again.
